ABOUT EDEN
Eden Dessalegn is a business owner, a dancer, a mother and a lover of travel. She's passionate about culture and living a full life.
Eden has been braiding hair for 20 years, bringing joy to clients daily. She started Eden Stylz straight out of high school as a mobile business. She split her time between the business, university, travel, dancing and other jobs. In 2016 - the same year she completed a Masters degree in Business Management at UTS - she opened Eden Stylz Studio in Yagoona, Sydney.
Eden has grown her business from a bedroom-based operation to one with a 6 figure turnover.
She is a pioneer as the 1st POC (person of colour) to have a hair braiding stall at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the 4th largest show in the world. She's participated for 6 years running.
Born in Ethiopia, Eden was raised in Australia from the age of 6 years old. She started working at the age of 14 and has worked in a whole range of jobs.
She's been a waitress, a bartender, a barista, a dance choreographer and a teacher. She's worked with kids with disabilities, and in logistics, warehousing and health. She has film experience, both in front of and behind the camera. That includes being a featured dancer in a Hollywood film!
She's now mother to a 2.5 year old son Kingston, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of 1. Dreaming big, working hard, she lives a happy and successful life. She does what she enjoys, owns multiple properties and makes people happy. Eden is living proof that nothing can stop determined, driven and positive women.
